SCREENWRITER, DIRECTOR, EDITOR
My Puerto Rican heritage is the lifeblood of my work, infusing every frame and line with themes of identity, resilience, and connection. Growing up surrounded by the vibrant complexity of my homeland, I learned to see beauty in contradiction and strength in vulnerability. I carry that spirit into my storytelling, crafting narratives that are both deeply rooted in my origins and resonant across cultures.
From a young age, I gravitated toward creative expression—writing, drawing, acting—anything that allowed me to explore the world within me. Even though the stage terrified me, I found my voice through these outlets, using them to make sense of my surroundings and emotions. They became a map for understanding who I am and what I want to say.
My turning point came when I decided to write a short screenplay. I knew nothing about screenwriting, but I threw myself into the process, devouring every book I could find. Slowly, the story I carried in my mind made its way onto the page. That script won an award, giving me the opportunity to direct and produce the film. The experience was transformative—it affirmed my love for storytelling and awakened a deeper calling: to bring stories to life through filmmaking.
That journey led me to editing, where I developed my technical foundation and discovered the emotional architecture of visual storytelling. Editing grounded me professionally, while writing remained my constant. Over time, I expanded into visual art and VJing, deepening my relationship to image, rhythm, and atmosphere—tools that now shape my vision as a director.
Right now, I’m focused on advancing Victoria, a completed feature-length script currently in development. The story follows a playwright who returns to Puerto Rico to confront her dying mother and forge an unexpected bond with the estranged sister she’s never met. In parallel, I’m revising Clara, a finished script about a horse trainer who must fight to protect her family and land during a devastating hurricane. I’m also in the writing process of Amaya, a coming-of-age tale centered on an unlikely friendship between a Puerto Rican girl and an undocumented Dominican girl. Additionally, I’m seeking funding for No War Without Humans, a poignant short script and second-rounder at the Austin Film Festival, which explores a mother’s attempt to shield her children from the emotional toll of a distant yet ever-present conflict.
For me, these stories are more than scripts—they’re a way to celebrate where I come from and connect it to the world at large. My ultimate goal? To direct these projects with bold visuals and plenty of heart. By blending the enduring spirit of my culture with universal themes, I want to create art that sparks dialogue, bridges divides, and proves that storytelling isn’t just personal—it’s a way to build a more connected world.
